Founders’ Message

Dear Friends,

The Alliance is the first Hispanic/Latin organization in the history of Garfield documented in 2002. As Founder of the Hispanic Alliance and the Board of Directors, we are actively seeking to change the way America sees Hispanic populations. We know the truth about Hispanics in America. We know that we are academics and artisans, politicians and plumbers. In our multicultural society, diversity makes us stronger. Diversity within a society is like a symphony where every instrument contributes to a more beautiful concerto, or a painting where the many splashes of color compliment each other to make beautiful art. Hispanic people have a long, proud history and have contributed greatly to our society; helping us thrive as a strong, vibrant nation where we all have something to contribute.

The Alliance was formed due to the growing Hispanic population in Garfield, working to serve and assist the Hispanic community around the City. The Alliance seeks to establish and maintain a good relationship with local government. We need awareness in which our specific community needs to know of their rights to raise their voice for the issues that affect our community. We want to empower our community in which they get involved and are confident enough to bring their concerns to the City officials of Garfield. Thank you for helping us realize our goals and welcome to The Hispanic Alliance.
